Delhi is the capital of India, and has be called the soul of the country. Since the early days many dynasties and rulers flourished on its regal soil. The legacy of that past survives in the many monuments left behind by the regents, each one a living testament of it’s glory. Today, the city is a curious blend of the modern and traditional, skyscrapers, beautiful gardens and wide tree-lined avenues perpetuate the Mughal passion of landscaping and architectural excellence. More important, however, Delhi blends within its folds the great cultural variety of India, an unceasing range of activity, a million ways of saying 'You are Welcome'. Overnight in Delhi.

Jodhpur, a land of royalty is a glittering jewel set in the golden sands of
barren desert landscape. The light that reflects of the golden sands engulf
a land renowned for its vibrant colours, people in the bright clothes and
beautiful jewellery, living in city dotted and dominated by towering fort
and palaces that rise from sand like a mirage. A valiant sentinel in the desert,
on the eastern fringe of the Thar desert has the distinction of neither being
a part of the Thar desert nor out of it. At best it is a doorway to the wonderland
of sand dunes and stirrups, rocky terrain and thorny trees. The home of the
Rathores - the awesome princely state of Rajasthan. Marwar or Maroodesh, land
of the sand, was conquered by them after the fall of Delhi and Kannauj.
The city lies at the foot of the hills. The clear distinction between the
old and the new city is visible from the ramparts of the fort. On the other
side of the city, facing the fort is the Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the most
spacious, sprawling and well planned palaces in India. And from here, as you
look at fort, a tantalising view rises before your eyes at sunset.
The royal cenotaphs or "Devals" of Jodhpur rulers on a high plinth crowned with spires and ornate carving are amongst other attractions of the Mandore. The longest and finest of all cenotaphs, are those built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh and Maharaja Ajit Singh.
Morning: Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most impressive and formidable structures. Invincible from outside, the fort has four gates approached by a winding road. Within the fort are some magnificent palaces with marvelously carved panels with latticed windows. A welcome drink will be served as Rajasthani folk dancers entertain. Guests will be provided their room keys in specially designed pouches.
Udaipur has to be the most romantic place in India. The French Impressionist painters, would have loved this place, and its not without justification that Udaipur has been called the Venice of the East. Udaipur nestles like a gem in a valley surrounded by the green Aravalli hills, reflected smooth and white in the clear blue Lake Pichola.
The old city within the fortifications is built on tiny hills. Narrow medieval roads and lanes wind and bend, with a small temple at each turning, making the city one of the most charming in all Rajasthan. Interspersed among the old dwellings, temples and palaces which speak to you of a royal, aristocratic past are the new and modern - shops, houses and bazaars.
Udaipur rivals any of the world famous creations of the Mughals with its Rajput love of the whimsical and its superbly crafted elegance. The Lake Palace is the best example of this unique cultural explosion, but Udaipur is full of palaces, temples and havelis ranging from the modest to the extravagant. It is also proud of its heritage as a centre for the performing arts, painting and crafts.
